Listed below are some Frequently Asked Questions about the AMR/SCADA system, and how it will affect cooperative members.
How will the AMR meters help with quicker restoral of outages?
The new AMR system will allow ECEC to quickly see who is out of power by reading meters close to where the outage was called in before sending crews out to work on it. This will reduce the amount of time it takes to restore power by allowing crews to spend their time solving the problem instead of looking for it.
When will I be able to interact with my meter and pull usage information?
Now! Residential customers can contact ECEC to signup for our Free Meter Monitor website. This will give you access to the data we are collecting from your meter.
What sort of information will I be able to get from my meter?
Members are able to check, via a web browser, their daily kWh (kilowatt hours) usuage reported by their meter. This data is available both in a tabular and graph format. You can also signup for alerts that will deliver email messages when your consumption goes above or below a kilo Watt hour threshold you specify.
