The furnace area must be kept clear and free of combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapours and liquids.
The flow of combustion and ventilating air must not be obstructed from reaching the furnace.
Before calling your gas servicer, if the unit does not start
- Make sure room thermostat is set correctly.
- Check for faulty fuses or breakers.
- Make sure electrical power switch to unit is in the "on" position.
- Make sure the main blower access panel is installed correctly to activate interlock switch which breaks the electrical power to the unit.
- Check thermal spillage switch reset button.
- Check your air filter and see if it needs to be replaced.
Any other service to the unit when required and an annual check of the system should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician.
