BREAKFAST IN THE VALLEY

Second Friday in June

As the major Platinum Sponsor for this event, Eau Claire Energy Cooperative is happy to help the community salute the farm producers in our area. Usually scheduled for the second Friday of June each year, the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce brings together over 300 volunteers to serve up a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, fruit, muffins, cheese and cheese curds, OJ, milk, coffee and a scrumptious dessert of frozen custard with strawberries and corn flakes. The event normally takes place at the Eau Claire County Exposition Center from 5:00am – 10:00am and attracts about 3,300 people each year.

SAFETY DEMONSTRATIONS

Year round

With Safety as its number one goal, to keep employees, members, and the public safe around electricity, our Operations Department works with local elementary schools, emergency personnel, and the Mayo Safety Camp to showcase live line safety demonstrations. It’s an opportunity for people of all ages to learn what to do when confronted by downed power lines and other emergency situations around electricity. After all, it’s our job to help keep everyone safe around electricity.


CVHBA HOME & GARDEN SHOW

Last Full Weekend in February

Held annually during the last full weekend of February, the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association Home & Garden Show showcases builders and associate member products and services, covering everything for building a new home or remodeling an existing home. It’s an opportunity for the public to visit with vendors all at one location which has been the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center for the past few years. Eau Claire Energy Cooperative has been a major sponsor and proud participant of this event for many years. The event attracts about 4,000 people each year.

CVHBA PARADE OF HOMES

June

Who wouldn’t want to tour brand new homes and get ideas for the quality offered by Chippewa Valley Home Builders? For over 35 years CVHBA has organized the builders and associate members to showcase what they can do as far as quality homes in the Chippewa Valley. The event attracts over 4,000 people each year in mid-June. Eau Claire Energy Cooperative is proud to sponsor this event which helps promote quality home building.

SILVER MINE SKI JUMPING

January

For over 125 years, residents of the Chippewa Valley have had the opportunity to see world class ski-jumping competitions at the Silver Mine Ski tournament held at Silver Mine Hill near Eau Claire in January. It’s a fantastic event that attracts top skiers from around the world. Eau Claire Energy Cooperative is proud to be a major sponsor of this event which takes place in our electric service territory. Our line workers have also volunteered in past years to help bring better electric facilities to the venue.

CHIPPEWA VALLEY POWDER KEG

February

Grab your winter gear and join us for s’mores around the bonfire and cheering on off-road snow bicyclists and snowshoe enthusiasts at the Chippewa Valley Powder Keg! The event is held annually in February at the Lowes Creek County Park south of Eau Claire. Activities include snowshoe and fat bike races, free kids events, and mascots races. Organized by CORBA, the Chippewa Off Road Bike Association, Eau Claire Energy Cooperative is happy to help promote this annual event, which takes place in our electric service territory.

RED FLINT FIRE CRACKER BIKE RACE

June

Organized by CORBA, the Chippewa Off Road Bike Association, Eau Claire Energy Cooperative is happy to help promote another quality sports event which takes place in our service territory. Usually taking place in late June at the Lowes Creek County Park south of Eau Claire, this off-road race tests the stamina and talents of those drawn to off-road biking. The two day event offers camping, a pre-ride clinic to learn the course, spaghetti feast, breakfast, kids race and the main event.
