WHAT IS IT?
If you’re a high school student and you live on Eau Claire Energy Cooperative lines, consider Youth Ambassadors! You’ll learn first hand about cooperatives and energy issues, gain leadership skills, and participate in community service projects. You’ll also make lifelong friends and have a ton of fun!

Want to make your high school years memorable?
HOW IT WORKS
  • Attend monthly meetings from September to May
  • Enjoy great food!
  • Participate in community service projects
  • Explore issues that are important to you
  • Apply for Youth Leadership Conferences, including one to Washington D.C.
  • HAVE FUN!

MEETINGS

Meetings are usually 12:00-1:30pm on the third Wednesday of the month. Most meetings are located at Eau Claire Energy Cooperative. Community Service Projects are normally evenings and Saturdays.

Kathy Statz presenting Cooperative: 101 Kathy is the Education Director for Wisconsin Farmers Union and Camp Director at Kamp Kenwood and will provide a fun, informative look at what makes Cooperative difference so great! Lunch will be provided by ECEC. Meeting will finish no later than 1:30pm

Life of a Lineman! ECEC's linemen will talk about the tools of their trade, importance of absolute safety and even perform some of their continued training exercises. Lunch will be provided at Noon and meeting will dismiss no later than 1:30pm.

Youth Ambassadors Ugly Sweater Party Ugly Christmas sweaters, holiday games and assembling tie blankets for the community! Lunch provided at Noon and meeting will dismiss no later than 1:30pm.

Tour Altoona Police/EMS/Fire Building. Officer Timothy Peterson will lead the tour. Lunch will be served at NOON. Tour will start by 12:45. Students will be dismissed by 1:30pm

Billy Bandli, Action City General Manager, will give a tour of the Action City/Metropolis Resort facility. Lunch will be provided by ECEC at Casa Margarita.

Location: Down to Earth Garden Center at 12:00pm


Ben Polzin, Owner of Down to Earth Garden Center, will give a history of Down to Earth and discuss efficiency practices they use to operate the Garden Center year-round. ECEC will provide lunch at Five and Two Cafe.

Youth Ambassadors will deliver Pet Supply Drive donations to Eau Claire County Humane Association. Staff will give students a tour of the facilities, discuss the importance of the shelter and their outlook for the future. ECEC will provide lunch for the students at Casa Margarita
