STORE HEAT & USE IT WHEN YOU NEED IT

WITH AN ELECTRIC THERMAL STORAGE SYSTEM

ELECTRIC THERMAL STORAGE (ETS) PROGRAM

WHAT IS IT?
This program typically uses either room or central storage ETS units, or electric slab storage systems. These systems can either be the sole source of heating in a home or business or part of a Dual Fuel heating system. Systems participating on the ETS program are controlled on a scheduled basis and in return you receive a lower rate for the off-peak meter.

HOW IT WORKS
  • ETS systems have the ability to produce and store heat during Off-peak times which can be used when power to the system is controlled during On-peak times.
  • Systems must be sized correctly to meet the needs of the home or business.
  • Electric water heating can also be connected to this program.
  • No uncontrolled electric heat is allowed - including plug-in space heaters.

COST COMPARISONS

Use these guides to help you compare your energy options.

The COP is how efficiencies of heat pump systems are rated. It relates to the number of energy units produced for each unit used. For instance if a geothermal heat pump has a COP of 3.5, for every $1.00 of energy used to run it, it will produce $3.50 worth of heat energy in return.
